How to Cook a Hobe’s Country Ham: Pan Broil or Fry
There are so many ways you can use ham and so many ways you can cook it. If you want to try pan boiling or frying one of our country hams, there is a certain way to do it to make sure the ham turns out moist, flavorful, and delicious. Pain boiling or frying our country ham is quick and easy – the trick is to make sure you don’t overcook it. Use the leftover ham drippings to make a gravy, and you have the foundation for a mouthwatering meal your whole family will love!
Slice the ham ¼” to ⅜” slices, trim the outside edges, and score the fat. Place the slices in covered frying pan (set on medium). Brown on both sides; but be careful not to overcook as it will make the ham hard. To make country ham gravy, pour off most of the grease and add water or coffee to ham drippings in the pan and stir.
